Delta aiming for 200 sneakers to give to LazySneakers charity

We were delighted to continue our support for GirlBoss this year by again sponsoring the Emerging Leader Award at the second GirlBoss Awards. GirlBoss was set up to close the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, maths, entrepreneurship and leadership and empower confident, resilient, future-ready, young women to lead and change the world.

We were so impressed with this year’s winner of the Emerging Leader Award, Maia Mariner – the driving force behind LazySneakers – that we wanted to support her organisation as much as we could.

LazySneakers is the charity she set up when she was 12 years old to redistribute sneakers to kids in need and so we have partnered with LazySneakers with one aim:

We want to collect, clean and deliver 200 shoes to Pt England Primary School Tamaki in Auckland by mid February 2020.

Our Delta families are all helping to promote this initiative through their schools and communities and we would love it if our broker partners in Auckland … and beyond … would help us by doing the same thing!

So if you have any sneakers of any size that you or your children have grown out of or no longer in use (adult sizes are equally valuable), we would love to see them winging their way to our offices and into our sneaker deposit box! Any help would be gratefully received as it’s all about spreading the word and hoping for a snowball effect.

We will then sort and clean the sneakers before handing them over to the school with Maia and her team in February.

If we manage to exceed our target of 200 sneakers, then we can redistribute any extras to other kids in need so no reason to stop at 200!

We are really excited about getting involved in such a worthwhile project that really makes a difference to so many children’s lives.

Any questions, please give us a call.

Thank you!
