What a night at the New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards for 2018!
On a fantastic evening of glitter and glamour at the Sky City Convention Centre, we were absolutely delighted to win the Underwriting Agency of the Year Award for the second year in a row, as well as pick up the Young Insurance Professionals Employer of the Year Award.
Miriama Kamo hosted the show with style and panache and everyone came dressed to the nines and in outstanding form.

Managing Director Ian Pollard accepting the award on behalf of Delta
“Wow I honestly wasn’t expecting to win this with such stiff competition. This is really humbling.
Embracing change and innovation are very much part of our DNA since we started as a business back in 2014 and its been the driving force behind the business. So – fresh thinking and diversity are very much are at the forefront of everything we do and very much so of our recruitment process. We feel that the next generation is key to challenging the status quo of the industry and dealing with the challenges that we face in the future.
I personally fell into insurance, as did most of you I believe, and we’re trying to change that here at Delta in our own inimitable way – that’s why we have our formal graduate programme, attracting students through internships.
So many thanks to all and on behalf of the Delta team we will continue to embrace change.”

General Manager Craig Kirk accepting the award on behalf of Delta
“This means so much to us, not just winning it once, but two years on the trot. That’s pretty special. So I’m accepting this on behalf of the whole team, and also our team in Singapore as well, who contribute a lot to our business.
We’ve got some very special guests on our tables tonight. We’ve been around for five years early next year and tonight we’ve got the wives of the Directors … my wife Lucy, Ian’s wife Teresa and Andrew’s wife Cath. I’d just like to give special mention and pay tribute to them. Without them, to be honest, we wouldn’t be here, because we hummed and hahhed about should we do this, should we not … They basically said stop talking about it and get on with it. So thank you ladies. We wouldn’t be here without you.
I want to pay tribute to the other finalists as well and pay tribuite to the vibrant agency scene in New Zealand. It’s an important part of the market, and increasingly so. It’s great to see you other guys making the finalists list.
And again I’d just like say thank you to the team – it wouldn’t be possible without all your hard work, dedication and your passion.”
