One of our most rewarding events in the calendar year is the GirlBoss Awards, a celebration of the incredible achievements of Girl Power throughout Aotearoa. The Delta Emerging Leader Award for 2020 was won by Richelle Wahanga, a Year 10 student at Huntly College who set up a lunch network with her own initiative, providing free lunches for any students at the school that wanted one.

Ian’s take on the day: “An outstanding, inspirational and fabulous day at Huntly College. The whole school welcomed us with a moving Powhiri and the amazing Richelle showed us why she so deserved the Emerging Leader Award. We loved helping Richelle, Laticia and Mangakii out in the kitchen and were totally inspired by the school, its values and what Richelle has achieved under the guidance of Sharon and her team.”
