For Joleene (Jo) Dawson, what started as a temporary placement while finishing high school has become a lifelong passion, which has seen the New Zealander travel extensively while steadily working her way up the corporate insurance ladder “I dipped a toe in and took a lifelong swim’, she laughs.

Along the way, Jo has completed her university studies by correspondence while working full time, and settling her family in Sydney, Australia. Now, as the new Group Head of Underwriting, highly experienced Jo delivers strategic value to Delta Insurance including developing and implementing underwriting practices, performance monitoring, and supporting product innovation. And she does all that with a cheerful, personable approach which makes every day a rewarding experience for herself and her colleagues.

Joleene has come on board at Delta Insurance in search of new opportunities and is relishing the organisational culture, innovative approach, and nimble can-do attitudes of colleagues and associates. Viewing insurance as an essential service in the corporate and private sectors, Jo has seen the power of good cover personally, while creating sound value for her customers by working with companies committed to doing the right thing.

As an individual highly regarded for her reliability and dedication to making underwriting as efficient as possible for her team and the brokers they collectively serve, is excited in playing a key role in driving the Delta Insurance success story to new heights across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and beyond.

With the working day done, Jo is an avid reader and parent to fur babies Ralph and Lola – pug and French bulldog - and Angus the cat.
