As Claims Broker Relationship Lead, Sharna Garbett does many things really well and she’s certainly an expert in liability claims handling, with international experience going back a good three decades. And as a bubbly, enthusiastic personality, she interfaces regularly with brokers, delivering training and support on Delta’s processes and products so they get the most out of their association with our business.

Australian by birth (and accent), Sharna is now well established in the Auckland office and provides claims support across New Zealand, Australia and Singapore as a key member of the team led by Petra Lucioli.

Her greatest achievements are somewhat tied to those of Delta Insurance itself: Sharna came on board in 2016 when ‘our fledgling company was just taking flight’. She’s proud and considered herself privileged to have watched and played a part in seeing Delta Insurance grow into a multinational powerhouse.

With strong interpersonal skills, more than a dose of curiosity, and a keen nose for the truth, Sharna loves meeting people and sharing the Delta Insurance value proposition. When it comes to claims – often in the wake of tough times for insured parties – she’s a proven problem solver and often the source of relief and good news. No day is the same, with a constant stream of unique challenges keeping her enthused, engaged and motivated.

Getting away from it all does happen, though, and she’s a keen ocean swimmer…but admits to a terrific fear of sharks, handled by pretending they aren’t there.
