Jamie Reader, our newly appointed Motor and Property Claims Handler at Delta Insurance New Zealand, brings exactly that - a unique mix of design thinking and claims experience.

Jamie’s career path into insurance began in 2016 with a role at a leading loss adjusting firm. Over four years, he built a solid foundation in motor claims, developing technical proficiency and a deep understanding of the end-to-end claims process. In 2020, he transitioned to a brokerage environment, where he managed a diverse portfolio of domestic and commercial policies, broadening his exposure to client-focused risk solutions.

But Jamie’s professional journey started on a different track. Prior to entering insurance, he collaborated with a major bank’s customer transformation team on a unique initiative: designing a Movember-themed EFTPOS card aimed at engaging youth customers. More than just a design project, the initiative supported men’s mental health charities and demonstrated how creative thinking can drive positive change.

As he settles into his new role at Delta, Jamie is eager to contribute to the development of the company’s commercial motor policy. He’s passionate about process improvement and committed to delivering better outcomes for brokers and clients alike.

Outside the office, Jamie’s creativity continues to thrive. He’s an avid sketch artist and digital designer and even dabbles in tattooing. A passionate football fan and home cook, his chicken korma is a favourite among friends.
