We’re delighted to welcome Olivia to the Delta team as a Liability Underwriter.
Olivia joins us from a broking background and brings with her a strong client focus, a curiosity for technical insurance, and a dedication forged through years of high performance - both in and out of the office.
Originally from the Bay of Plenty, Olivia now lives in Papamoa Beach. Her sporting pursuits have taken her far and wide - but her professional journey has been just as full of twists and turns.
While working part-time in a restaurant as school was wrapping up, she received a job offer from a customer who worked at a local broking house –who would soon become her colleague. What began with a chance encounter quickly evolved into a full-time insurance career.
Over the last four years, Olivia has held roles across support, domestic and commercial broking, and claims. In each position she developed key relationships and honed her understanding of client needs. Over time, she grew increasingly fascinated by underwriting - the mechanics behind risk evaluation and policy structure-and that curiosity is what led her to Delta.
“Although I thoroughly enjoyed broking, I’ve always been interested in underwriting and the technicalities of various liability products. That curiosity is what ultimately led me to Delta.”
One of Olivia’s standout achievements is representing New Zealand in triathlon at just 15 years old. The path to qualifying wasn’t quite so smooth - she even took a tumble over a fence during the qualifying race - but it taught her much about resilience, balancing pressure, and performing when it counts.
She brings that mindset to her work: tackling complexity, embracing challenges, and always seeking growth.
From the start, Delta stood out to Olivia as a company guided by integrity, technical strength, and client-first values. “I was particularly drawn to the team’s integrity and their client-first approach. There’s such a wealth of knowledge here, and I’m excited to soak up as much as I can.”
She’s eager to immerse herself in underwriting, deepen her product knowledge, and become a trusted partner to brokers.
As she settles in, Olivia is focused on building strong relationships, becoming an approachable point of contact, and helping brokers with clarity and care. “When I was starting out as a broker, I always appreciated underwriters who took the time to guide and support me. I want to bring that same energy into my role at Delta.”
